Galleass Ihana has been launched!

Galleass Ihana was launched 23.7.2010. Approximately 7000 people witnessed this historical happening. Last sailing ship, built in Luvia, was launched in 1919. Among audience was President of Finland Tarja Halonen. Ihana was christened by Kirsi Weckman, Aino-Maija Luukkonen and Kristiina Salonen.

Ihana lies now in Laitakari harbour.

Getting up on ships deck is forbidden as construction continues.

Ihana traditional sailing ship associations office (info, office and product sale) is open everyday from 12  to 15. Groups! Contact first project assistant Suvi Taitonen +358 440 580 600.

Building bees are held every weekday from 9 to 16. At the moment construction of ships masts, jibs etc. has started. Also ships decoration, installation of navigation and radio equipment is on.

Photo exhibition of ships construction continues on dock yards balcony. There is no entrance fee to balcony.
