 Ihana traditional sailing ship accosiation fulfils society's norms by building galleass Ihana using only traditional building methods in Laitakari Luvia.

Building of the ship began in the spring 2006, ship were launched july 2010, and maiden voyage will be done in spring 2011.

Builders of the ship are volunteers participating in building bees.

Public can watch ships construction from balcony in the dock hall (Laitakarintie 345, Luvia, Finland). The dock is always open when ship is being built. During fall and winter we strive to keep dock open on weekdays from twelve to three. Building bees are on weekdays from nine to four.

Ships construction and development of tourism involving, are carried out as a collaboration with EU- investment, local district, private investors, members of society and public.

Ihana traditional sailing ship association arranges annual ships building partys, presentations of maritime heritage, sailings, maritime celebrations, fairs and various youth activity.

At the moment associsation has over 600 members.
